CFN Events

 

CFN organizes a number of events throughout the year that give local families opportunities to meet each other and have fun with their children. Below is a list of upcoming events as well as recent events. Check the Programs and Playgroups pages for additional information about ongoing programs and events.

CFN Members may receive information on family-friendly events via e-mails from the CFN Board and/or postings from other members via the CFN Message Board. July Drop-in Playgroups

In July, CFN families will meet at Rideout Playground on Laws Brook Road on Tuesday afternoons between 3:00-5:00 and on Friday mornings between 9:30-11:30. These events are a great way to meet local families or see old friends with children of all ages in a relaxed, outdoor setting. Since there is no formal facilitator, CFN members are encouraged to post a message to the CFN Message Board to let others know that they will be attending. Meet Up at the Picnic in the Park. Friday, July 4th

The Town of Concord is again sponsoring the July 4th Picnic in the Park at Emerson Field from 11:30am to 4:30pm. There are various activities and entertainment scheduled throughout the afternoon and food is available. CFN families are encouraged to use the CFN Message Board to organize informal gatherings at this event.

Dad & Me Event: Tour Concord's Fire House. Saturday, June 28th, 10:30am

Hey Dads, do you know the difference between a pumper truck and a ladder truck?  And what in the world is a brush rig?  Find out all this and more with your kids on a tour of Concord's main fire station, located at 209 Walden Street.  Get a behind the scenes look at Concord's fleet of emergency vehicles and glimpse the inner workings of our town's fire station.  The tour should last 30 to 45 minutes and is geared to children ages 2 to 6.

MNO: Shopping and Socializing. Thursday, June 26th, 7-10pm

Join CFN Moms for an evening of shopping and socializing.  Meet at the Reflections Consignment shop at 101 Commonwealth Avenue in West Concord at 7 pm.  They are currently offering 10% off everything in the store.  It is a great shop and even more fun with friends.  After Reflections closes at 8 pm, head over to the 99 Restaurant for drinks, appetizers or dinner.  Please RSVP to Michelle Pflomm at  mlpflomm@msn.com by 12 noon on June 26th, so she can reserve at table at the 99!  

Annual Ice Cream Social and Membership Renewal. Saturday, June 14th, 3:30-5pm

Join CFN families for the annual ice cream social and membership renewal event on Saturday, June 14th at the Ripley Playground off Meriam Road.  There will be field games, face painting, crafts and ice cream from Bedford Farms!  A suggested donation of $5 per family will be collected to support Open Table.

Membership forms will be available at the event and at www.concordfamilynetwork.org. Members who renew at the event AND volunteer to help at a future event will be entered to win one of two fantastic prizes, an ABC Music Together class or a Capelli Salon gift certificate. Be sure to renew by July 1 in order to maintain benefits!

Please note that Emerson Playground has water sprinklers while camp is in session, so plan accordingly!

 

New Baby Brunch.  Saturday, May 31st, 10-11:30am.

Attention new Moms and Dads! Come to the Concord Children's Center on May 31st to meet new friends at CFN's Annual New Baby Brunch! This event is open to all Concord families who have given birth since last May, as well as all other CFN members who would like to welcome them. Event activities will include:

  • opportunity to meet and visit with other local parents of new babies
  • variety of valuable information about local area resources for new/young families
  • discounts on area classes and vendors who support life with a new baby
  • demonstration of baby sign language from WeeHands
  • craft activity for older siblings
  • door prizes and goodies bags

We are requesting an optional $5 donation per family to help a young local family in need purchase diapers and formula.
