CFN Playgroups Playgroups for Future Kindergarten ClassmatesCFN is launching new playgroups
to get future classmates together. The idea is to provide CFN children with the opportunity
to meet others who will start school at the same time. The playgroups will meet periodically
on dates to be determined by each group. Siblings are welcome (unless otherwise noted), but
the focus will be on activities appropriate for the age of the children in the group.
Winter Play SpaceCFN's Winter Play Space for 2009-2010 is coming to a close! Join other CFN families on Friday mornings from 9:30 to 11:30 am at the Hunt Recreation Center's Multipurpose Room, 90 Stow Street in Concord (adjacent to Emerson Playground). Winter Play Space is a FREE drop-in play time for CFN members; parents/caregivers must stay and supervise their children. Many thanks to Erin for coordinating Winter Play Space again this year! If you have questions or would be willing to volunteer to be a back-up host, please email Erin at at cvlogan@comcast.net. Note that non-members may attend Winter Play Space one time only; CFN membership is required for subsequent visits. The March dates for Winter Play Space are Friday, March 5th, 12th, 19th, and 26th. Friday, March 26th is the final session for 2009-2010. Organized PlaygroupsPlaygroups are a great way for kids to develop social skills and to learn from others while having fun. They offer parents the opportunity to share experiences, meet new friends, and take a break from the usual routine. Many CFN members participate in age-specific playgroups that meet at families' homes on a rotating basis and/or local playgrounds. As of the fall of 2008, CFN playgroups will be self-organizing via the CFN Message Board. To find a playgroup, post a message to the message board including the ages of your child(ren), your preferred days and times, and your contact information. You also can search the message board to view recent playgroup-related postings. Openings are available in some playgroups, and new playgroups are always welcome! |
