Organized Playgroups

The Concord Family Network currently organizes several playgroups for CFN members. These include age-specific playgroups and sibling playgroups. The playgroups are hosted at families' homes on a rotating basis and at local playgrounds/play spaces. The playgroups are an important opportunity for children to develop social skills and learn from each other, while having fun. Parents are able to share experiences, meet new friends, and get a break from the daily routine. Please contact Nicole Magun at nmagun@hotmail.com for further information. Drop-in Playgroups

Drop-in playgroups are a great way to meet local families in a relaxed outdoor setting during the warm summer months. Weather permitting, CFN families with children of all ages are encouraged to gather at specified playgrounds on Tuesday afternoons from 3pm to 5pm and Friday mornings from 9:30am to 11:30am. As the name implies, "Drop-In" whenever you can! These groups will alternate between Emerson Playground in Concord Center and Rideout Playground in West Concord. (Click here for directions to local playgrounds.) Please note that there is no official facilitator for these groups. Instead, CFN families are encouraged to post a message to the CFN Message Board to let others know that they will be attending.

Winter Play Space

CFN's fantastic Winter Play Space is currently closed for the season. However, attendance rates told us we're meeting a need in Concord and so, with luck and another brave leader to coordinate the weekly gathering, we hope to offer this again in '08-'09. Thanks to our fearless CFN member and PlaySpace coordinator, Michelle Pflomm, as well as our hosts at the Concord Rec. Center, CFN members found a warm, fun, toy- and book-filled playspace to romp -- and converse! - on chilly Friday mornings this past winter. Now, enjoy those outdoor playspaces and be sure to meet up with other CFN families during our coordinated playground gatherings (see Drop-in Playgroups above).

Craft Playgroup

This craft playgroup was designed for preschool-age children and their younger siblings. While the preschoolers engage in age-appropriate crafts, the younger children enjoy open playtime with other babies and toddlers. This group is currently meeting on Friday mornings at local homes. Spanish Playgroup

Meeting new people is never easy, especially if English is not your native language. Several Spanish-speaking CFN members have organized a special monthly playgroup for members interested in getting together with other families to socialize, play, and speak Spanish! This playgroup meets on the first Tuesday of every month from 10-11am at local homes. For more information, please e-mail ibeliza@gmail.com. English speaking families who are trying to improve their Spanish knowledge are also welcome!

Sibling Playgroup

CFN is currently looking to start a playgroup for siblings. We have one family interested and are looking for others to join them! Please email betsymartel@yahoo.com if you are interested.
