CFN Programs

CFN plans to host a number of ongoing programs for parents and their children.  We have already started organizing playgroups, weekly playground get-togethers, a book club and mom's night out events.  In upcoming months, we hope to also start other programs such as a dad's night out, story hours and craft hours.  If you are interested in coordinating an ongoing program, or volunteering for single events (e.g., hosting one story hour), please e-mail concordfamilyntwk@yahoo.com

Book Group

Are you looking for some intellectual stimulation and a chance to socialize away from your children?  If so, join a CFN book group!  If you are interested in joining or for more information, please e-mail Jennifer Morris at MorrisTaylor_family@msn.com.  Current or prospective members, click here for more information.  Book Group 2 is now forming.  Get in on the ground floor!  Click here and scroll down to the "Book Group 2" section for more information.

Mom's Night Out

Mom's Night Out (MNO) events give CFN moms a chance to meet and socialize with other moms in their community while the kids stay at home.  These events are held at local restaurants or other more creative/fun locations (e.g., Fire Your Desire or the Acton Jazz Cafe).  As events are scheduled, they will be posted in our events page and e-mailed to members; they will also appear in our quarterly newsletter.  For more information about MNO events, or to volunteer to coordinate one or more of these events, please e-mail Michelle Pflomm at mlpflomm@msn.com.

Dad's Night Out

CFN has several plans in the works for dads in the network.  The first "Dads Night Out" event took the form of a Dad's Poker Night and those in attendance decided to make this a regular event.  If you are interested in playing, please contact Rich at rich131@gis.net.  CFN also hopes to host other DNO events throughout the year if we are able to find volunteers to organize them (e.g., restaurants, sports bars, local sporting events).   Step up dads!  This is a great way to meet other peers in your community.  If you have a DNO event idea you'd like to host, please e-mail concordfamilyntwk@yahoo.com

Dad & Me Outings

Attention CFN Dads & Kids:  Looking for a fun outing over the weekends?  Moms: excited to have Dad and Kid's get some Q(quality)T, while you get some Q(quiet)Time??  Several members have expressed interest in rallying some Dad & Me outings.  Some ideas include:  a tour of Nashoba Bakery in West Concord, Make your own Pizza (and stay for lunch!) and taking a train ride from W. Concord to Concord Depot to buy ice cream (or, from Concord Depot to W. Concord to visit a local eatery).  Other ideas out there? ... let's hear 'em!  To make these events happen, we need volunteers to organize them!  If you are interested in organizing a CFN Father-Child Event (we'll help, rest assured), please e-mail concordfamilyntwk@yahoo.com.

School-age Child Events

CFN organizes many events throughout the year that are geared toward families with young school-aged children (i.e., ages 5-8; unless specified, younger siblings are always welcome).  These events are generally held on the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 3pm.  Please check our events page for more information about these monthly events.  CFN also plans to host occasional school-age events on weekends.  For more information or to volunteer to host a school-age child event, e-mail concordfamilyntwk@yahoo.com.

Story/Craft Hours

CFN is planning to host several theme-based story/craft hour events throughout the year given that we are able to get the volunteers/space to host them.  If you are interested in organizing such an event, please e-mail concordfamilyntwk@yahoo.com

Weekend Day Trips

Several times throughout the year, we will go to a new and exciting family-friendly destination, such as a zoo, farm or museum.  These trips will give CFN families a chance to meet and socialize with other local parents and children while enjoying a fun outing with their family.  Families will be responsible for their own transportation and admission fees, although we will attempt to find discounts and arrange carpooling upon request.  Please make sure to RSVP at least 24 hours prior to the event so we will know to look out for you.  ATTENTION: To keep this program running, we need volunteers to host them.  If interested, please e-mail concordfamilyntwk@yahoo.com.

Babysitting Co-op

Many have expressed interest in a babysitting co-op.  CFN has decided not to organize a co-op of its own because there is already an active babysitting coop in Concord.  For more information about this group, go to www.concordbabysittingcoop.com.
