The Concord Family Network (CFN) is run by a group of volunteers. There is no paid staff to coordinate and support the many events and activities offered to CFN members. The success of the organization depends on the willingness of its members to share their talents, time and beyond. We welcome and encourage all members to volunteer some of their time. There are volunteer opportunities both big and small. Listed below are immediate needs and ongoing opportunities. To volunteer or to learn more, please contact the chair of the CFN Board, Liz Wei, at concordfamilyntwk@yahoo.com
Ongoing Volunteer Opportunities
Coordinators for New CFN Programs: CFN Programs are events/activities that are offered to members on an ongoing basis throughout the year. Currently, CFN has an active Book Club, several playgroups and monthly Mom’s Night Out events. Over the next year, we would love to start new programs for CFN members such as:
If you are interested in coordinating one of these programs or you have an idea for another program that you would like to coordinate, we would love to hear from you! Please e-mail concordfamilyntwk@yahoo.com. Chairs for New Events: We have heard a number of great ideas for one-time events (e.g., Hebert's Candy Camp, a kids stuff tag sale, a trip to see the Lowell Spinners play, Miniature Golf). If you are willing to chair one of these events or you have another event idea that you would like to organize, we would love to hear from you! Please e-mail concordfamilyntwk@yahoo.com. Event Volunteers: In addition to Event Chairs, most events need people to help with smaller tasks (e.g., set up, clean up, buy/bake refreshments, pick up supplies, buy/prepare crafts). As an event is being planned, the chair makes a list of the volunteer needs and circulates the list to members via e-mail and the CFN message board. If you are planning to attend the event, please consider accepting one of the volunteer tasks. Community Service Coordinator: As an organization, CFN is very much interested in giving back to the community and helping those in need. To this end, CFN events typically offer a raffle or donation opportunity with the proceeds going to a particular community or charitable organization. Going forward, CFN would love to have a Community Service Coordinator to further expand the opportunities for CFN members and their children to serve the community at large as well as the CFN community. Some possibilities for this position include coordinating volunteer events and organizing donation drives for food, clothing and supplies (e.g., children's clothing and equipment for Cradles to Crayons). Or perhaps recruiting volunteers to provide meals or run errands for CFN members who have a new baby or are ill. If you are interested in this position, please e-mail concordfamilyntwk@yahoo.com. Preschool Liaisons: Preschool Liaisons are CFN members who serve as a CFN contact person for families at their child(ren)'s preschool. The liaison would provide information about CFN events and activities by posting and/or distributing flyers at the school and would be available to answer questions about the organization. If you are interested, please e-mail concordfamilyntwk@yahoo.com and include the name of the preschool. Liaisons for the elementary schools and child care centers serving infants and toddlers are also welcome! For a list of parents currently volunteering as program/benefit coordinators, click here. |
